Find Empowerment Through Music
Ginny Maddock (she/her) is a versatile vocalist, pianist, and educator based in Northern Virginia. With a B.M. in Jazz Studies and Vocal Performance from Ithaca College, Ginny brings a rich musical foundation to her work, spanning contemporary and classical vocal literature, jazz, musical theater, gospel, R&B, funk, and pop/rock styles.
For over a decade, Ginny has taught voice and piano to students of all ages, fostering musical growth through a holistic and inclusive approach. She currently serves as Music Director at St. David’s Episcopal Church and School in Ashburn, VA, where she leads the Choir & Band, performs regularly, and teaches music to preschool and kindergarten students.
Ginny’s teaching and performance are deeply informed by Somatic practices. She studied under Carol McAmis and is a passionate advocate of the Feldenkrais Method®, integrating it into her work to promote ease, authenticity, and longevity in singing. Her training includes Somatic Stress Release™ with Dr. Scott Lyons and Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method, having completed Levels I–III at the LoVetri Institute.
As a Voice Teacher, she focuses on the whole person first, allowing any student to learn to sing with freedom, authenticity, and longevity in any style they choose.
She specializes in working with changing voices—supporting individuals through puberty, menopause, hormonal transitions, and vocal trauma recovery. She is passionate about providing voice lessons as gender-affirming care to both cisgender and transgender students.
As a Music Director, Ginny has worked with community and youth theater groups, middle and high schools, and college-level productions. Recent/upcoming credits include The Lightning Thief at Loudoun County High School and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Sterling Playmakers.
Ginny is also a collaborative pianist with 15+ years of experience, accompanying soloists, instrumentalists, musical theater productions, church services, and choirs. She recently served as accompanist for the American Youth Chorus in Washington, D.C., and performs weekly at St. David’s Episcopal Church.
Her professional affiliations include Jazz Education Network (JEN), Mu Phi Epsilon, and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
